Trip itinerary

Day 1. UB – Khustai National Park trip (Wild Horse and Elk Park)
Your tour guide and driver pick you up from your hotel at 9.00 am and drive to the Khustai National Park. Mongolian wild horse is known as Przewalski horse (Takhi) with a unique landscape that features mountains and steppe.
After lunch, we will drive around the Khustai Mountain in the national park
- To see the Wild horses in their natural habitat
- There is a great opportunity to take a photo of these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, eagle, and more animals and bird
- Monument ensemble consisting of man stones from the 6-8th centuries AD
- Visit a local nomadic family to experience firsthand how people live in the countryside
Seeing these truly wild horses which numbered hundreds of thousands of years ago, will make you feel like you have traveled thousands of years back in time. Overnight in Tourist Ger Camp L+D Total distance: 220 km
Day 2. Bogd Khan Mountain National Park & Manzushir – Terelj National Park trip
After breakfast, we will drive to the Terelj National Park, which is one of the most visited national parks in Mongolia. On the way, we will visit Manzushir Monastery ruins in Bogd Khan Mt. National Park. The monastery had over 20 temples and was once home to at least 300 monks but was destroyed in 1930. The main temple has been restored and converted into a museum.
Upon arrival at Ger camp, which is located in the most spectacular spots in the Terelj National park, we will check in the Ger camp and have lunch. Then we will explore the national park and take a short drive to see Turtle Rock – an interesting rock formation looking like a turtle and visit the “Ariyabal” meditation temple – surrounded by scenic mountains with massive rock formations and sits at top of the mountain. From the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking view overlooking the Terelj National Park. Accommodation: Tourist Ger Camp. B+L+D Total distance: 200 km.
Day 3. Terelj – Genghis Khan Statue Complex – Ulaanbaatar
Free at leisure until lunchtime at the Ger camp. You can go hiking and walk around the camp. Around the area is great for flower watching.
After lunch, we will take a short drive to visit the “Genghis Khan Statue Complex” which is currently the biggest (40 m high) Equestrian statue in the world. There is a recreation area, restaurants, and souvenir shops that occupy the base structure. From here, you can ascend to the head of the horse using an elevator. There you have a good panoramic view over the complex area and the scenery beyond. Back drive to Ulaanbaatar city. Arrive at the hotel around 5.30 pm. B+L Total distance: 100 km

Ulaanbaatar – Khogno-Khan mountain – Waterfall- Erdenezuu- Ulaanbaatar
On this trip you’ll enjoy the landscape of Mount Khogno- Khan Nature Reserve, and the sand dunes nearby called “Elsen tasarkhai”, learn about Buddhism and the history of Mongolia, and how we set up the “Khustai” National park. Furthermore, you’ll be able to experience typical nomadic family lifestyle and do horse and camel riding.

Trip Itinerary
Horse and camel riding, hiking, visiting Erdenezuu temple and Kharkhorin museum and Khustai National park to see wild horses.
Day 1: KHOGNO-KHAN mountain
We’ll drive to Kharkhorin, an ancient capital of Mongolia. The Erdenezuu Monastery was the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Its construction began in 1586, but the monastery was not totally finished till 300 years later. The building of the monastery was done with stones from the ancient capital Kharkhorin only. Around 60 temples used to be inside its walls, but the Stalinist purges destroyed many, and only 18 of them remained untouched. Nowadays, the monastery is reopened for Buddhist monks and also for visitors. After visiting Erdenezuu we’ll spend the night in a ger ( yurt ) guesthouse or Ger camp near Erdenezuu temple.
Day 2: KHOGNO -KHAN AND ELSEN TASARKHAI
We’ll to drive to Mount Khogno Khan Nature Reserve in the afternoon. On reaching the mountain after a couple of hours you will arrive at a nomadic family Ger in front of this beautifully forested rocky mountain. The mountain is home to hundreds of birds, deer, and gazelle. You’ll be able to go hiking around the area or to the small sand dunes nearby called ” Elsen tasarkhai”. Spend the night in Ger camp.
Day 3: KHOGNO KHAN , ELSEN TASARKHAI
We’ll do Camel or Horseback riding for a couple of hours. And then we’ll go hiking to the Uvgun temple ruins. Spend the night in Ger camp.
Day 4 : KHUSTAI NATIONAL PARK AND ULAANBAATAR
We’ll drive to the Khustai National Park, located on the north side of the Tuul River, about a two-hour drive west of Ulaanbaatar. Although located in the central grasslands, Khustai means “with birch” because birch trees and aspen groves are plentiful in the area. It is a hilly terrain, with the Tuul River forming the southern boundary. The national park was originally set up in 1993 as a nature reserve for the first reintroduction of the Przewalski’s Horse (Equus przewalskii) into Mongolia. Today the Khustai Trust runs the park, funded mainly by tourism funds. Finally, we’ll drive back to Ulaanbaatar.

09.00. Chinggis Khaan statue
Visit the Chinggis Khaan monument situated in Tsonjin Boldog which introduces the medieval history of Mongolia and Chinggis Khaan’s life.
10.30. Getting ready for adventure
Arrive at Tuul riverside and prepare for the rafting. Guide will offer safety guideline (Served by hot drinks and finger food)
